The aroma of chili will be filling the air over lunch hour, in downtown St. Catharines on Friday February 19th, as the fourth annual Downtown Chili Cook-off gets under way. The event will feature cooks and their teams vying for trophies along with bragging rights for the year.

Tickets will be sold at the door, including tickets to sample 10 different entries, water, and a ballot to vote for the Peoples' Choice chili. Tickets available at the door for the competition and tasting, but to avoid disappointment be sure to come early! A panel of judges, including St. Catharines dignitaries and community personalities, will judge the competition chili, in a blind taste test. The winners for the judged and people’s choice awards will be announced at the end of the event. This event is Friday February 19, from 11am – 2pm, at Market Square in Downtown St. Catharines. Tickets are $10.00 each at the door, with all proceeds going to Community Care.  The cook-off will benefit Community Care programs in St. Catharines, and Community Care will be on hand at the event selling toques, soft drinks and taking donations. We raised over $3,600.00 last year, and the need is even greater this year.
